Copenhagen Short Film Festival 2014
The 2 blocks of New Danish Shorts remain the heart of CSFF with 12 outstanding works to screen, while this year our festival spotlight fallson the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. Founded in 1954, it has long been a catalyst for the advancement of experimental and underground cinema in Europe, and among other things gave directors like Wim Wenders exposure and encouragement early in his career. They have selected two programs: Authority and resistance (screened on authentic 16 mm and 35 mm formant) and the 2013 German Competition. Writer and filmmaker, Claud Löser, is back this year with a custom curated program of attention-getting shorts from German female directors. American animator, Martha Colburn, is flying in to participate in a sëance and to screen a selection of her films, while the fest wraps up with a selection of intriguing works from Brazil assembled by William Andreas Wivel.
