Copenhagen Short Film Festival 2020
Welcome to the 8. edition of the Copenhagen Short Film Festival. We’ve been holding our breath for a long time and following the situation, but have hoped and wished that we would get the chance to run a physical festival. It is important for us to run a physical festival, and make sure that the short films get their time on the big screen in the cinemas with their audience. And now we’re here, and are so excited to present a 5 day festival for you, filled with exciting and entertaining short films from around the world.
We curate our program in what we call blocks, which are composed of different short films within the same theme. This means that when you choose a block that you would like to watch, you will experience short films in different genres and usage of the medium. We think this gives a diverse and exciting experience, where you can get a good feeling of what short films are and can be.
In this year’s program we will present you to a world of creativity. You can experience insightful documentaries from Latin America, great new horror films, find out who’s going to take home our 2 awards and watch some of the best and craziest animation short films from the whole world. Furthermore, you can experience short films from upcoming danish filmmakers, fantastical short films for the younger audience, inspiring short films with women in front of and behind the camera, the newest short films from the nordic countries and short films that portray people from the LGBTQ+ community, which will be screened in collaboration with MIX Copenhagen.
We’re looking forward to seeing you for 5 fantastic days, where we will be celebrating short films.
