In collaboration with Moving PictureHaus and Democracy Garage, the short films are coming to Nordvest. In this film series, we will watch five filmmakers’ brave and visionary films, all of which deal with climate change and plausible future scenarios. Different film genres and stories from all around the world are used to address themes like drought, earth’s lack of resources and overpopulation. And if you, like us, think it sounds depressing, don’t worry, because these movies are also heartwarming, funny and hopeful. From South America, to the Middle-East, passing by Europe, we witness different responses and imaginative solutions to a universal emergency. After the films, we invite you to a talk about how far fiction is from reality and if our future is represented in any of these films.
After the screening we invite Sophie Rytter Skjoldager from Verdens Bedste Nyheder to a talk about how far fiction is from reality and if there is something to look forward to among the dystopian future scenarios. The talk will be in English.
