Open call 2025
We open for film submissions on January 13
Please note that we only accept Danish short and mid-length films this year.
The Copenhagen Short Film Festival is the only short film festival in Copenhagen, focusing exclusively on short films of all genres and formats. We plan loads of cool events and screenings where you can meet filmmakers, other short films enthusiasts as well as industry professionals.
During the festival you can watch loads of great short films, attend fun events and parties and learn more about the industry from our masterclass program.
The 2025 edition of Copenhagen Short Film Festival will take place from 6.-9. November 2025

Rules & conditions
For our open call 2025, we ONLY accept Danish short films, including Danish co-productions.
You can submit different types of film (documentary, animation, live action, children’s film, etc.), however we do not accept advertisements or other types of promotional videos.
We only accept film submissions through FilmFreeway
We accept short films (max. 30 min. incl. subtitles) and mid-length films (max. 50 min. incl. subtitles).
Your film should be finalized after April 2023
Your film must have English subtitles – this is not a requirement for the open call, but if your film is selected we would very much like to have a version with English subtitles.
When submitting your film to us, you accept the following conditions:
- the filmmaker is the holder of all rights to the film, and that there is no dispute over rights to all or parts of the film, including any third party rights.
- The CSFF team chooses where and when the film will be shown within the festival period.
- CSFF may use material from the film (eg clips from the film, trailer and images) to promote the screening and the festival (eg festival trailer, posters and programmes).
If a submission does not meet the above rules and conditions, the submission will be disqualified.
