“Reza is a young Iranian man living his first years in the suburbs of Denmark. Amidst trying to establish a new life, he one day meets Nova from Norway in the subway. They spend a romantic night together which leaves Reza impressed and wanting more. He seeks Nova at her work, and is met by her loud and outgoing friends. Nova, being surprised by Reza’s sudden turn up, keeps a low-key at first. But as the night evolves she is intrigued to get close again. First at this point Reza realizes that they’ve had different understandings of what their connection meant.
Reza’s Dance is inspired by conversations between the director, her father and other Iranian men, who have experienced difficulties in forming intimate relationships in the beginning of their time in a new country.”
