Tired of being seen as a monster, Medusa begins to peel away her skin, layer by layer, in a desperate attempt to be truly seen. Through expressive paint-on-glass animation, her body becomes a shifting landscape where the boundaries between inner and outer selves begin to dissolve. As perspectives move between Medusa’s gaze and the gaze upon her, the film explores abjection, recognition, and the desire to be seen beyond the surface. A visceral and poetic exploration of identity, otherness, and the unstable boundary between self and other.
